We're working on a limited budget, but I still want to have a NICE wedding and reception. One area that we're definitely spending tons of money on is just renting things (tables, linens, chairs, etc), and plates/glasses/silverware are included in that-- our caterer does not provide. My problem is that the venue is an outdoor pavilion in the mountains (beautiful), but it doesn't have a kitchen.... so we'd have to tote out dirty dishes back to the cabin rental to rinse before returning (yuck). In an effort to help, my dad suggested either buying dollar store plates we can just throw out or doing disposable plates. He brought home 150 plastic plates from Sam's Club the other night (which he paid $12 for a pack because they were marked down). They look like china with a navy trim, but.... THEY'RE plastic! Should I get over it and just go with the plastic even though I love the feel/look of real plates?

Plastic is amazing these days. There are numerous styles. Such as; silver plastic knives, forks and spoons. They look real at first glance. Go ahead with plastic plates. Shop around. There are many, many styles. I have seen thin pearl whites that looks like pure china!! Have fun!
