I am absolutely IN LOVE with the idea of giving something handmade for a favor, but I'm terrified of DIY projects because I am not artistic at all! Anybody have some SIMPLE DIY ideas for favors?

Easiest one I've seen was this couple who took 3 pictures holding signs that said "plant one" "on us" "smooch!" and arranged them to look like a photo strip and attached it to a small paper bag with a flower bulb inside. So cute, easy, and useful!

Good question! I just wrote this reply in another post. DOLLAR STORE: Miniature picture frames. They come in Silver/Gold. And yes, they are $1.00. When you send your Thank-You cards out, send them a miniature portrait of bride and groom for the frames. Go to Wal-Mart. Buy Tulle, 1/4" silk ribbon matching your wedding color(s) and cut 6" squares and wrap Jordan Almonds: Jordan almonds are a favorite at most weddings. This favor dictates that you give 5 pieces to each guest to represent the five wedding wishes: Fertility, health, wealth, happiness and longevity. The almond is candy coated representing the bitter and the sweet of marriage. We hope you have enjoyed these wedding traditions. They might help you in planning your perfect Charleston wedding. http://www.charlestonweddingphotographers.com http://pinterest.com/charlestonphoto/boards/

Try etsy.com for handmade items by other people. Another idea, if you can find in your area, is to go to a crafts fair. There will be lots of tables set up with handmade items. And if you don't see exactly what you are looking for, ask the vendors. Many are flexible and can make items to order. Hey, no one said the favors had to be handmade by YOU. :-)
