Always remember that there are certain shades of makeup that won’t look good in pictures, like on black and white ones, for example. Photographers can offer makeup tips for the bride and groom, so ask them if you are doing your makeup correctly.

As long as you love the way you look and you don't use "shiny" make-up, you're good to go. Obviously, your make-up should be part of your whole wardrobe. If you can manage certain soft colors to match your wedding colors, it will have a positive impact on your photography.

The best photographs are taken when you feel your best. I have several brides who don't usually wear makeup, so for their wedding day they choose very natural shades and leave the fake lashes, etc out of it. The key is to look back at your photos and not say "that's not me at all!" Feel free to do a test run with your makeup person and have someone take a few photographs of you when it's done. If you like what you see, then that's what you should go with! :)
