Flowers are mostly used for décor and are really expensive. Instead of using flowers for centerpieces, think of other alternatives, such as your favors. Or, if the reception is too big to cover with flowers, try shrubs or ficus trees instead. The good thing about this is that you can rent them. Basically, you can rent decorations and not spend on flowers that wither (unlike your love!).

Candles are another alternative because it symbolizes romance. Try to get unique ideas on how you can decorate the candles. And if you have some white Christmas lights, you can use them as decorations if you are doing a winter wedding. There are ways to keep this from looking tacky! If all else fails, look at what is on sale and see if you can use them for wedding decorations.
